A calm doesn't mean that the storm won't break out at any time again. Your problem is only apparently solved, and won't solve itself on it's own in the future either.

Even if you welcome distractions so you don't have to deal with the annoying topic, it is now actually more important to use the opportunity for finding a genuine solution.
